We got this speaker for our toddler to carry around and listen to music, rather than buying a child’s mp3 player. The sound is great, it has a nice carrying handle and it’s very well padded. You control the music through the plastic screen, so no greasy finger prints on your ipod. Although it’s not rechargeable, the batteries do seem to last a long time. The only part that I wish I could change is that the ipod must be removed completely in order to charge it. And the velcro strap is poorly designed so it’s very difficult to slip it through the little bar inside. I solved this issue by threading a string through the end, pulling it through with that, and then sewing it so the strap could never slip out again.

I purchased this speaker system from somewhere else for alot cheaper also. I am pleased with the speakers for the purpose it was intended i.e. travel, bedroom, hotel etc. Sounds great with my iPhone 3Gs. Most of the time I don’t even put it in the case, I simply plug my iPhone into it and enjoy my music or movie. I did add an extension wire adapter to it since I like to use my phone while listining to my music. NO IT’S NOT A BOSE! but for the average listener you won’t be disappointed.

I bought this device because I wanted travel speakers for road trips and I wanted something to keep my iPhone dry and clean when I go to the beach. I haven’t used it for the beach yet but the travel part worked out great. What I do like about it is that it can be used as a speaker or a headphone player for when I need to keep the sound private. My iPhone has a ifrogz cover on it and the fit is a little snug as someone here mentioned. But that’s OK. Better tight than loose. It’s a steal at this price too.

My only complaint is the lack of a power cord or some way to power it without using batteries. Four AAAs will require me to get a AAA battery charger and some re-chargeable AAAs which I do not have. That is the only reason why this thing gets 4 stars. I now have hope that my iPhone will not get wet or get sand in it this summer from the beach. It closes completely and will keep it dry and sand-free. And for that I am very happy.

I recently purchased one of these for my iPod touch because I liked how it encapsulated the iPod. It appeared to be the perfect solution with its built in speakers. The photos do not show that there is actually hard plastic inside instead of more protective foam. If you drop it, there will will be plenty impact transferred to you iPod.

I loaded 4 AAA batteries into it and was immediately disappointed with the low volume from the speakers. There is no external volume knob. After not even a minute of operation, there was terrible distortion in the speakers and a hot plastic, burning smell. I scrambled to shut it off and get my iPod out to make sure there was no damage. I was lucky.

The store I bought it from would not accept the return, so I am out the money. Buyer beware! Rating: 1 / 5
